Daily Internet plc client win
03 February 2014
Walbrook PR has been appointed by Daily Internet plc (AIM: DAIP), the hosting and cloud infrastructure provider, to manage communications with the financial media, research analysts and investors. Walbrook's account team will be Bob Huxford, Guy McDougall and Paul Cornelius.
Daily Internet is a UK-based Internet hosting and cloud infrastructure provider with a strategy to become one of the leading providers of internet hosting solutions to European SMEs. Current offerings include the provision of virtual and shared servers, cloud services, eCommerce, sitebuilding and domain name registration. Daily Internet's aim is to expand into providing higher value services such as complex, managed and dedicated server hosting.
The Company expects to achieve these aims through a mixture of organic and acquisitive growth and accordingly has adopted a 'buy & build' approach. The acquisition of Netplan Internet Solutions Limited ("Netplan") last October represented a first and significant step in this strategy, bringing with it private cloud-hosting, Infrastructure as a Service, high-security managed hosting and PCI (Payment Card Industry) hosting capabilities. In January 2014 the Company acquired Namehog Limited to broaden its reach into its marketplace.
Daily Internet's board comprises of Internet hosting veterans, with CEO and founder Abby Hardoon having successfully built Host Europe plc in the late '90s into a profitable and cash generative business until it was sold to PIPEX for £32m in 2004. Daily Internet's Chairman, Michael Edelson, was also formerly Chairman of Host Europe plc when it floated on AIM in 1999 and has been on the board of Manchester United Football Club Limited since 1982. In January 2014, Chris Evans was appointed as non-executive director in order to drive forward Daily Internet's acquisition and integration programmes. Chris sold his Internet hosting business, Switch Media Limited, to iomart plc in 2011, where until recently he had been a Director of its Easyspace division, delivering revenue and profitability ahead of budgets.
Paul McManus, Managing Director of Walbrook PR commented: "We are delighted to be assisting Daily Internet in building its profile among analysts, investors and the financial media. Following its recent acquisition of NetPlan the Company is strongly positioned to benefit from the rapid and accelerating growth in the cloud and web-hosting markets, where a number of other listed companies have enjoyed considerable success and share price appreciation in recent years.
"With its experienced management and clear buy & build strategy, we believe Daily Internet has an excellent opportunity to achieve its goal of becoming a leading European web hosting solutions provider."
