Walbrook PR advises on AIM IPO Satellite Solutions Worldwide Group plc
19 May 2015
Walbrook PR, which provides high quality Financial PR and Investor Relations to Small Cap and AIM listed companies, announces its appointment as Financial PR & Investor Relations advisor to Satellite Solutions Worldwide Group plc ("SSW") having worked on the Company's recent IPO which raised £2.25m and saw the satellite broadband business join AIM with an initial valuation of just under £14m. Walbrook will manage communications with the financial media, research analysts and investors on behalf of SSW.
SSW is a leading provider of satellite broadband services in the UK and Europe, operating under theBigblubrand (www.bigblu.co.uk). The Company has a proven track record of organic growth of subscription numbers and recurring revenues and believes that there is a significant opportunity to continue to grow its subscriber base significantly through organic growth and by consolidating the fragmented satellite broadband industry across Europe.
SSW listed on the London Stock Exchange's Alternative Investment Market on 12 May 2015, trading under the ticker SAT. The Company boasts a number of high profile investors including Nick Candy, who owns 10.9% of the shares, and Chris Akers, who owns 3.7%. Andrew Walwyn, CEO and Simon Clifton, CTO own 15.8% and 10.2% respectively. The shares listed at 4.5p and finished the week at a small premium at 4.88p.
The SSW Opportunity
Across Europe, there are an estimated 20 million households which cannot access the internet over broadband due to the limitations of the fibre broadband infrastructure in their area. These people are part of what has been deemed the 'digital divide'. Despite the political will across Europe for fast broadband, the high costs of upgrading wired or wireless infrastructure means that in many locations it is not commercially viable for fibre infrastructure companies to invest in providing broadband to these locations. SSW is addressing this situation by providing fast broadband services via geo-stationary satellites to specifically target people in the 'digital divide'. SSW can deliver a 22 Mbps satellite based broadband service to almost any premises (whether residential, commercial or industrial) across Europe, irrespective of location or local wired and wireless infrastructure.

Paul McManus, Managing Director of Walbrook PR, said:" We are delighted to be supporting SSW in this key stage in its development, not only in its transition from private to public, but more crucially, as it seeks to consolidate the industry and grow Bigblu into a dominant pan-European brand for satellite broadband. The Company is well positioned to continue to grow organically and through carefully selected acquisitions. We were pleased at the positive reaction in the market so far and we look forward to building on this momentum."
