Walbrook PR are pleased to announce its appointment as Financial PR advisor to Cyan Holdings plc, the provider of flexible wireless solutions for utility metering and lighting control.

Cyan Holdings plc (AIM: CYAN), is an AIM listed integrated system design company delivering mesh based flexible wireless solutions for smart utility metering and smart lighting, which provide considerable power and cost savings in these markets. Cyan's strategy is to sell its proven technology in rapidly expanding markets, particularly India and China. This will be done by establishing partnerships with consortia that submit large-scale tenders to electricity boards and targeting the adoption of Cyan's solutions by leading meter vendors, systems integrators and utilities.

As an example, Cyan is competitively positioned on the Tamil Nadu Electricity Board (TNEB) tender process, with Cyan products reliably demonstrating an interoperable solution in a number of field pilots in Trichy (Tiruchchirappalli). Cyan's technology is also built in to the meters of a number of manufacturers who are participating in the tender. The tender process is the first phase (1.5m meters) of an overall project to replace 18 million meters in Tamil Nadu. TNEB has yet to fully complete all pilot evaluations and the tender attribution process, but this will be a key piece of news for Cyan when announced.

A recent forecast from IMS Research predicts that smart utility meters will account for half of all global meter market revenues by 2016. Cyan's smart metering solution for utilities, CyLec®, provides an integrated platform that enables utilities to transform existing power grid infrastructure into the smart grid. CyLec® has been deployed with multiple utilities which leaves Cyan well placed to take advantage of the forecast increase in smart meter usage.
